Won't start or runs slowly
Check PC requirements, graphics drivers, antivirus exceptions, reinstalling, and what to send us, in order.

First, check your PC
- Operating system: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (32-bit Windows and macOS are not supported)
- Memory: 4GB minimum, 8GB or more recommended
- Graphics: Ordinary integrated graphics are fine, as long as WebGL (browser graphics acceleration) works.
- Disk: Installer is about 114MB
Several 8K panoramas in one tour use a lot of memory. If a 4GB PC feels slow, close other programs or reduce your photo sizes a little.
1. The program doesn't open at all
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and check whether Panohaus is already running. If so, choose End task and launch it again.
- Restart your PC.
- If Windows updates are pending, finish them first and try again.
2. Black screen or panoramas don't show
The Panohaus viewer uses WebGL. An outdated graphics driver can cause a black screen or very slow rendering.
- Update your graphics driver to the latest version from Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA, or through Windows Update.
- On a laptop, plug in the power adapter and relaunch. Power-saving mode can limit graphics performance.
- Remote desktop sessions and virtual machines often have WebGL turned off. Try running on a physical PC directly.
3. Antivirus is blocking it
Until our code-signing certificate is in place, some antivirus tools may misidentify Panohaus.
- Check your antivirus quarantine for Panohaus files.
- If the file came from the official site, restore it and add the Panohaus install folder to your exceptions (allow) list.
- Launch the program again.
4. Reinstall
- Go to Windows Settings > Apps and uninstall Panohaus.
- Download the latest installer from the download page and install it again.
Your project (.ptour) files are not deleted when you uninstall. Still, copying important work to another folder beforehand is a good habit.
5. Slow only during certain tasks
- Importing photos: Photos larger than 8K take time while they're scaled down to 8K. Saving them at 8192×4096 or smaller beforehand speeds this up.
- Exporting: Depending on the number and size of photos, this can take a few minutes. Let it finish before doing anything else.
- Disk space: When your drive is nearly full, autosave and export slow down.
6. Send us logs and details
If none of the above helps, these details let us find the cause quickly.
- Windows version (Settings > System > About)
- Memory size and graphics card name
- Which screen it stops on, and any error message text or screenshot
- Any error log file the program created
Still stuck?
Gather the details above and send them via Contact support. We'll work through it with you.
